Her years spent as a volunteer in Los Angeles city shelters and advocating for homeless animals in Los Angeles brought her to adopt Penny, an anxious and scared terrier mix in 2017.  Five years later, with the help of DNA testing, Penny was reunited with her littermate, a (hard to believe!) equally anxious and scared terrier mix named Stella. Reuniting Penny and Stella was a reminder of the hard work and dedication it takes from everyday people to help care for the ones without voices, at times in the most need, but with the most love to give.

The idea for Penny and Stella was born—showcase the most special of bonds, from the perfect to the imperfect and everywhere in-between, meeting people and what’s important to them where they are now—not a version edited and cropped for social media. Storytelling is for pets, for families, for couples, for individuals—we all have a story to tell. Let’s tell it together.
